Fred Hall
Fred Hall was a pioneer of promoting fishing shows. Hall opened his first fishing show at Gilmore Field in 1946 and continued with more shows in Chicago, San Francisco, and annual shows in Ventura, Long Beach, and Del Mar.
Hall’s fishing shows have been a huge success for more than half a century.
With a specific interest in young anglers, he strived to spark interest in children and had policies including children admitted for free under 12 and provided them with fishing instruction in an outdoor tank. It has been estimated that more than half a million children learned to fish at Hall-produced shows during six decades.
