Kirk Immens

Kirk was very active with the association and had a huge impact over the last 15 + years in helping change the direction of the ASA.

He broke into the fishing tackle business more than 45 years ago, in retail, the wholesale, and then running his manufacturer’s rep firm, Sportco Marketing.

He was a member of the Communications Committee and Membership Committee. Kirk became chairman of the board for fiscal years ’17 and ’18.

Since then, besides being past chairman, he also served on the Nominating Committee, the Sportfishing PAC committee and the Retailer Committee.

He was also chair during the transition from the long-time president of ASA, Mike Nussman, to Glenn Hughes.
Kirk led the expansion of the Government affairs committee to include a Saltwater east and west and helped Mike Leonard in the addition of staff to better service the US regionally.

This has made a huge impact over the past five years and will continue make a difference in the future.
Kirk also promoted the SportfishingPAC and grow that revenue and engagement with our members, has helped build relationships and get our positions heard in Washington, DC.
