Just before the show floor opens at ICAST, the world’s largest sportfishing trade show, our industry comes together for one of the most important business events of the year – the State of the Industry Breakfast. It’s where ICAST attendees hear about all the challenges and opportunities that impact the recreational fishing industry.
At ICAST 2025, ASA President and CEO Glenn Hughes provided updates on the great work ASA is doing on behalf of the industry, broke down key stats and analytics about the domestic and international marketplaces, and gave an overview of the current political landscape with an emphasis on tariffs. If you are involved in the sportfishing industry in any way, this is “must watch” content.
This year’s audience was also treated to a surprise when Glenn presented entertainer and philanthropist Steve Harvey with the inaugural ASA Impact Award. Steve Harvey, an avid angler and host of TV’s “Family Feud,” supports outreach, mentorship programs, and initiatives through the Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation.
