Approximately, 15.5 million adults, or 6% of adult Americans, wanted to fish as kids but did not. This report shows the importance of youth fishing programs and how they can be as effective as possible.
45% of these have not fished as adults, or upwards of 7 million adult Americans who might be anglers today if fishing was available to them in their younger years. These ‘lost’ anglers represent a possible 18% increase in angler numbers, if all of them who would have fished had an opportunity to learn and accessible fishing had been available.
