The American Sportfishing Association’s (ASA) members and staff extend our deepest sympathies to all those affected by Hurricane Ian.

At this time, ASA has been in touch with many of our members in the region to check on their status and wellbeing and to find out how their families and their businesses fared. It is clear that the recovery from this wide-spread and breathtakingly disastrous hurricane will take a long time.

We also want to acknowledge the damage caused by the hurricane to Florida’s fish and wildlife resources and their habitats.  ASA is in discussions to determine how the association may best be of service in the recovery efforts.

Members in Florida affected by Hurricane Ian are encouraged to complete the state’s Business Damage Assessment Survey, which will allow the state to expedite Hurricane Ian recovery efforts by gathering data and assessing the needs of affected businesses. More information can be found here.

We encourage ASA members to reach out to Rob Russel, Member Relations Manager with any relevant information that might be helpful for providing support and guidance through this difficult time.
